So, the bike video reminded me of Claude Lelaoch's film Rendezvous. Not that I went out and looked for anything about it on the net. Instead, haha.nu found the following for me today. A site that's made it so you can follow along in Google Maps with the film. Click the link to bring the ROCK!
Oh, one more thing. To see this I had to shut down any other open applications than my browser and load it up in something that's not as much of a hog as Flock...
Google Maps + Google Video + Mashup - Claude Lelouch's Rendezvous: "How this works.
1) Hit play on the video. I highly recommend immediately hitting pause. This will allow the footage to buffer and avoid stutters.
2) When you've got a nice buffer (dark gray bar under the video), hit play on the video. At the 4 second mark, hit the 'Go!' button. Feel free to zoom in and zoom out or change the map type once it gets going.
'On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris.
No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.' "
