I’ve been indoctrinated to see a sequence of pictures and try to find the narrative in them. A life spent reading comics will do that to you. In high school applying it to archaically illustrated rectangles of cardboard meant that I was the only gamer-dweeb in the school (and possibly county) that the majority of the cheerleaders would seek out. Intuition and pattern finding were my friends. You know the saying, “Cold read the cheerleader, cold read the world...” (OK, I don’t really think I was cold reading. It just sounded good...)
If you’re reading this on it’s Blogger page then there are a bunch of my latest favorite pictures from flickr on the bottom of the page. Pictures all lined up. One. After. Another. Sequential art!
Here’s a story of the moment:
In the water and down the drain are things that look like microbes, but are really ghosts. They come up to manipulate the world and give birth to strange new ideas that are beyond speech and blaze their own trails. They come up out of tanks and from strange, hidden indoor gardens to tempt the creatures of the land. When their pools dry they form into wire used to build the tunnel digging robots that free up humans for the exploration of inner-space, or play vast aquatic games of go, or monochome-garden, or just enjoy the world.
OK, it’s nothing profound, but it was fun to do. I might try more of these.
